I've only recently started buying mugs like a collector -- for a long time, I preferred to buy mugs at actual locations as souvenirs. I wanted to make sure I was making my own memories, rather than buying the remnants of someone else's. Recently, however, I've been suckered into this racket. I fell in love with the design of the mugs. The Steve Crane Bird Bowl (or as tikifish calls it, the Hypnotic Chicken) was my downfall.
