I started collecting mugs in 1998. My first was my Orchids R-72 that I picked up at a vintage store in Berkeley. I started out slow, picking up mugs here and there, mostly at antique stores. They brought back memories of the Chinese restaurants my parents would take us to in the 1970's and of our summer vacations in San Diego when they would take us to the Bali Hai in the early 1980's. I started reading Tiki News in 2000 and found some wonderful resources there. Many of my mugs were purchased from Tiki Objects by Bosko, Joe's Aloha Collectables and at Oasis II & III. I love Tiki Farm. There is something so appealing to me about their style. _________________________________________________ Disaster hit the collection on 10/9/05. A car thief drove through my house destroying many of my mugs. It's been four years now, and I've been able to replace all but 8 of my damaged and destroyed mugs. I'd like to thank all of the kind people who helped me put my collection back together.
