I started collecting tiki mugs about a year ago. I've got it bad and that ain't good. I like vintage in particular. I find some of the modern stuff a bit too slick/sleek for my taste. Although there are exceptions as you can see. Sometimes the uglier and more boring the mug the more I pity the poor thing. That's why I've tried to do all the little critters as much justice as possible in the photographs. I live in Dublin, Ireland and tiki doesn't cause a blip on the radar here so all my mugs are ebay or Internet purchases, with the exceptions of the Tabou Tiki room mug, which I got in the bar when I was over in Berlin, and the San Francisco Tonga Room Hula Girl bowl which I picked up (to my utter amazement) for a few cents in my local charity shop. I've no more room or money for mugs but I fear that's not enough to stop me. I also fear I'm in the wrong place to be persuaded otherwise!
