Distinguishing  Munktiki signature head w/ Chihuahua dog body. The head and body are two separate pieces. Black glaze w/ white highlights. Signed "Miles 08" on bottom of front/right foot.
Black Saru - Miles Nelson created this while he was studying ceramics in Japan (April 2008). About a year later this lil'guy was shown in a group art show (Super 7 Magazine) up in San Francisco, California. Later this One-Of-A-Kind ceramic was sold through the Munktiki.com site.

I offered to pick this lil'guy up while he was still in Japan. Too bad the Mutango Doggie was sold, I was sure he would have held onto that one.

super score! i dig da black clay. i went to the show in sf. it was cool seeing all of miles' dogs lined up.
