This production Ape mug was made in Mexico rather than China. Typically the China production mugs look better in my opinion, detail stands out better. In the case of this Ape mug I Prefer the one made in Mexico. A bit smaller(shrinkage) and I like the glaze, more shadowing especially around the word "Ape". Better in person. See pictures.

This mug was designed by Crazy Al Evans as merchandise for his band, APE. The mug is a monkey's head, wearing a fez that says "APE", and has no lid. The mug was manufactured by Tiki Farm. This production version of the mug has a brown glaze, and is not painted.
