Munktiki Waiko "Olives" Vase, 2003; One of a series of four vases designed by Waiko and manufactured by Munktiki. Waiko (aka) Yoko comes from a family of ceramic artists, both her Mom's and Aunt's works can be seen thoughout Japan. Her husband Stuckie is a Munktiki ceramist. In this series of vases, Waiko is calling upon the style of the 50s and 60s. She has updated it with her own personal flair and sense of taste. Retro vases are handpainted with a ceramic underglaze.
Markings: Marked on bottom of vase in black "munktiki, waiko, 2003".
