Distinguishing	Mug from Mauna Loa Bar - Madrid, Spain
This mug came from the Mauna Loa Bar in Madrid, Spain. It's an odd design, but none of their mugs bear any relationship to the other Spanish mugs, apart from their huge Volcano bowl. (Which is more volcano than bowl).

Diablo was manufactured by Arte 4 in Spain. The mug is blue with a rope pattern down each side. The front features two large brown ovals which appear to be eyes and a long triangle that gives the appearance of a nose.

Congratulations. I always thought that the story about a man who took a mug out from Mauna Loa was just a legend.

The design is from a Papua Nueva Guinea, Ramu river area shield.

The original artifact is in the NY Museum of Primitive Art.

In this mug the design is upside down

I got one with different colors and the design in the righ position.
