I've got 4 of these in a batch sale off eBay. They came from Germany to the UK and when they arrived 3 of the 4 were broken. 1 was perfect, 2 had small chips or dinks and the last was smashed to smithereens. This is the one that survived intact. It's also quite galling as this was the worst of the bunch... the glaze seems too thick and it's consequently less detailed than the others.

This all-black gloss handled mug is of a woman's head, with squinted eyes, wearing a collar and a short headdress. Another version is satin, more detailed, and has a taller headdress.

Semi-Gloss Black. General lack of detail. Lettering on bottom difficult to read. (Late casting from a worn mold?)
